512MB Kingston MMC Mobile Memory Card...?

I have a 512MB MMC memory card and the problem i am having is, when i goto properties on the memory card the capacity comes up as 495mb. How do i get the full 512MB out of the memory card ? I have tried formatting the memory card but nothing seems to happen. Any help ? Thanks.
