I want to sell my baseball cards. I need some advice?

I have a lot of baseball cards just sitting around that I would like to sell. One Pete Rose and a couple Willie Mays. Do I need to get these appraised first or what do i need to do to figure out how much they are worth. I keep seeing baseball cards listed as a PSA or something on Ebay and I don't know what this means. Thanks
