its basically a giving of advice stated in hamlet. in an over-simplified form, it basically advises to listen to everyone but only share your real thoughts with a certain few; be true to yourself and you'll be true to others, and basically, let others judge you but dont judge others. I think the opening lines refer to the speaker giving power to the person spoken to, giving him his blessing by 'putting the wind in his sail' and giving him the ability to move forward. hope i helped
